0:04: 836 the time it's wake up Wyoming, triple 897.
 0:06: What's the phone number?
 0:07: That's 888 97 W 00 Ds.
0:09: Now she's able to call back and I would love actually to take this call, Miss Mary, let me know that Kyle Cameron who's a democrat in Wyoming running for, oh, she might be on the phone right now running for Congress, wanted to talk to us and it looks like Kyle Cameron actually has one of those candidates out there that actually understands websites and social media because Kyle, I see that you have that stuff morning, wait a second, hold on a second second.
 0:39: I've got one.
 0:40: Ok, good.
0:41: I'm glad that you have all of those things and it's good to see not just your face there and the social media presence and so on, but also thanks for calling into the program.
0:50: I do have to ask you though when I take a look at and I do want to ask about your campaign on a very serious level.
0:57: But when I take a look at the democrat party running in Wyoming this time around, I actually don't see much of a presence this time.
1:06: And I wonder, do you see that too, or is it just me?
1:09: Oh, I wonder why that is any ideas why that might be?
1:15: I mean, if we're going to talk about it, do you have any thoughts about why?
 1:18: I don't, I really, I don't, you don't know.
1:20: I have no idea why because we've been threatened.
 1:24: We've been intimidated.
 1:25: We've been scared.
1:27: We've gotten to the point where in some of our counties, there was a point where you didn't even say you were a democrat because you were afraid for your life.
1:34: Like our ability to speak out our ability to voice.
1:39: Our concern has been highly censored and muted and there's been a lot of rhetoric as well.
1:46: So there's a lot of rhetoric about, let me take a breath, Glenn, there's a lot of rhetoric around, you can't win in Wyoming unless you're a Republican.
1:55: And if, and it's really important to as a Republican because your vote can influence the election.
2:01: So we saw that with Governor Gordon and Foster Freeze.
2:05: We saw that with Liz Cheney.
2:07: However, we also see that it's not really working, right.
2:10: So register as a Republican, you can influence the election.
2:13: But Representative Hageman still got elected, right?
 2:19: That's part of it.
2:20: That's really, I would say the biggest part of it is just the rhetoric and the fear and intimidation around us having a political voice that isn't, like, generally accepted.
 2:33: Ok.
2:34: Now, at the same time though, you've decided to step up and go ahead and run anyway.
2:39: So, despite what you see as,, some intimidation, you've decided to step out anyway.
2:45: And I'm glad to see the bravery on that part if that's the way you think about it.
2:49: So,, you're from where, let's get,, introduce you to the people out there.
 2:53: You're from where?
2:55: Oh, Wyoming, I'm from Cheyenne.
2:57: I was born and raised in Cheyenne.
3:00: I was raised on the south side.
3:01: So, you know, for those of people who live in rural Wyoming, they may not know what that means to be raised on the south side, but I was raised on the south side of Cheyenne.
3:11: My dad, James Griffith was a city councilman.
3:14: He worked tirelessly to make sure that there were paved roads on the south side of Cheyenne.
3:19: I would say that he would say that that was his greatest achievement.
3:24: My mom, Mamie Urbica Griffith, she was the first woman to run for mayor of Cheyenne.
3:32: She lost but she did it.
3:33: And I was a part of that campaign and I was part of my dad's campaign.
3:38: Yeah, I grew up in Cheyenne.
 3:39: I'm a University of Wyoming graduate.
3:41: My daughters are University of Wyoming graduates.
3:45: One of my daughters works for the University of Wyoming.
3:47: The other one works for Wyoming game and fish.
3:50: And I have a son who is exploring his life?
 3:53: Ok.
3:54: So I, I have a niece that does, that my youngest niece is.
3:58: I never know where she's gonna be literally on planet Earth next.
4:01: And I mean that literally as she travels and does just amazing things.
 4:05: All right.
4:05: So do you have political experience besides running for this office?
4:10: Yeah, I've ran for Laramie County Conservation District.
4:14: I've ran for precinct committee person.
 4:17: I didn't win the conservation district.
4:19: I did win the precinct committee person.
4:22: I'm also the Wyoming Democratic Party Labor Caucus chair.
 4:27: OK.
4:28: So you've been very politically active this entire time.
4:30: What prompted you or inspired you to run for this office this time around?
 4:37: Well, right.
4:38: Exac so it's not something anyone should take lightly, although I encourage people to do it.
 4:43: Right.
4:44: I encourage people to put their name on the ballot.
4:47: You hear a lot of things just go ahead and do it anyway and keep going.
4:52: So I just encourage people to do that, but to be honest with you, Glen, I've been having this conversation with people for a couple of years.
5:01: Again, having the conversation with some really close personal friends with family members.
5:06: And then someone said to me, you really should check Representative Hagemann's voting record and I went well.
 5:13: All right.
5:14: Yeah, I guess I should and I did and I found out that Representative Hageman has voted against workers.
5:21: according to the A F L Cio and how they are elected official, how they vote, she has voted against workers every single time and voted for corporations.
 5:31: And I just, that's not me.
 5:33: Right.
5:34: I am going to vote for workers.
5:36: I'm gonna support workers, I'm gonna stand up for workers' rights.
5:39: I'm gonna, I'm gonna advocate for workers' rights every single time.
5:43: And at that moment when I saw that, that was the way she was voting on that.
5:49: And then somebody alerted me like it, it all happened at the same time, Glen cause somebody else alerted me around the same time that she had also voted to defund NATO.
5:59: And I was like, oh my gosh, we, I, I, I know I can do a better job representing Wyoming and representing Wyoming's values than Harriet Hageman.
6:10: I know I can, I know I'm not gonna say hurtful, hateful, harmful things about someone who has given their life the political service.
6:22: So those things just made me go, you know what, I'm gonna go ahead and do that.
6:26: I'm talking with Kyle Cameron.
6:27: She is from Cheyenne Wyoming.
6:29: She's running as a Democrat for us, House of Representatives for the state of Wyoming.
6:32: And again, I'm really glad that you called in for this conversation because in the past, I've had many more Democrats calling in this year.
6:39: You are the only one.
6:40: So I want to have this conversation, but we only have a couple of minutes left.
6:44: So let's say Wyoming gave you this job.
6:46: You have this gig, what is it specifically you would like to accomplish that you would bring to the table in representing Wyoming, right?
6:54: I want to add to the infrastructure like there's so many things.
6:58: Oh my head just explode.
7:00: I definitely wanna add to the infrastructure funding that can come into Wyoming to increase passenger rail throughout the northern and southern parts of Wyoming.
7:13: One of the things as I go around the state and we, I talk to people running for county commissioner is water, water infrastructure.
 7:20: This isn't new.
7:21: You were talking about it earlier, I think or I heard you at another time talking about drought.
7:26: That's very real for our ranchers in Wyoming, right?
7:30: So we've got to be talking about what we're going to do of water.
7:32: We've got to be talking about what we're going to be doing about our water infrastructure, especially in our small communities that we want to attract people to.
7:40: We want to attract families to.
7:42: And one of the ways we can do that is by saying, we're going to be, we have clean water and it's easily accessible to you.
7:50: transportation, clean water housing, everywhere we go, we talk about housing.
7:55: So from what I've heard now, there's hopefully incentives for first time home buyers coming.
8:02: Definitely Wyoming can be a leader in manufacturing homes.
8:06: Let's do the research, let's invest in research organizations who can help us re invest in manufacturing sustainable homes, extreme weather, sustainable homes, you know, me, zero homes if we, if that's where, where we wanna go.
8:24: But of course, my number one issue is reproductive freedoms and bodily autonomy.
8:30: I absolutely believe that we are guaranteed by the constitution to be the people are, the people have a right to be secure in their persons.
8:40: And the way I read that that passage, that amendment four is that we have a right to be secure in our persons.
8:48: We have a right to be secure in our economy.
8:50: So if I want to present as a male, it's none of your business like I'm gonna present as a ma I have a right to my bodily autonomy.
8:59: So in 2022 the House of Representatives passed the Women's Health Protection Act, they went to the Senate.
 9:05: It didn't go anywhere.
9:06: I think we can do better.
9:07: I think we can do the bodily Autonomy Act, which will provide protections for everyone in in their, the way they choose, present themselves and their bodily autonomy.
 9:18: OK.
9:18: So find out more Cameron for Wyoming dot net to find out more.
9:24: That's Cameron for Wyoming dot net.
9:25: Now, here's what I'd like you to do if you would please do when we get done with.
9:29: This is the primary day.
9:31: And then as we go close to the general election, you'll still be around, I'm sure because I don't see anybody else running against you.
 9:37: Right.
9:37: So, now that you have our phone number as we get close to the general election, please call back and let's have this conversation again because I, I prefer as much as I'm a really, in case you hadn't noticed opinionated kind of guy.
9:50: I'm more of a libertarian, but I wanna hear what other people think and I, I think just like we have this guy Greg that calls him Laramie.
9:58: He and I disagree on everything but Greg is respectful and he's funny and he's charming and I like talking to him.
10:06: So when we get closer to the general to Greg, cause Greg shout out to Greg cause Greg was the one I'm in Albany County.
10:13: I was at the Albany County campaign office, Greg was down there.
10:16: I said, what do I do next, Greg?
10:18: And he said, you, Glen, thank you.
10:20: So I got to run for time's sake.
10:22: Will you call back closer to the general election?
 10:25: Yeah, absolutely.
 10:26: Thank you.
 10:27: I appreciate it.
 10:27: Kyle Cameron
